Alongside our offices in the Melbourne CBD, we operate two facilities within Victoria. Our Geelong facility is where we conduct our 14- and 28-Day Withdrawal & Detox Program.

Your sobriety journey begins in Geelong

The first steps towards sobriety for any person with a substance use disorder are crucial for setting the stage for long-term recovery. The simple reality of addiction is that some people will need to take these first steps more than once. That’s why we developed our Geelong facility.

Our Geelong centre is dedicated to our 28-day Withdrawal & Detox Program. Here, we will care for you in a safe, secure environment. You’ll be tended to by experienced addiction withdrawal counsellors and medical specialists.

We can say with absolute certainty that the foundation we build with you here will give you the best possible chance to rebuild a healthy, safe life. We know this, because many in our team have overcome addiction themselves, and they took their first steps right here.

About our Geelong centre

Going through withdrawals isn’t easy, but it also isn’t impossible. We’ve designed our facility to make sure that you and all of our other residents are as safe and comfortable as can be.

Aside from the medical care you’ll receive, we’ll also offer you individual counselling, group support, entertainment and games — anything you need to make your detox experience as comfortable as possible. But these services offer more than comfort. They’ll help you understand your addiction and prepare you for more focused therapies at our Essendon inpatient facility, which will be the next step in your recovery journey should you wish to continue with us.

  • Drug and alcohol withdrawal services
  • Private open-air green courtyard with tree shelter
  • Private residential rooms
  • Multiple living spaces with several types of recreational activities

Our values

As we mentioned above, most of our team have battled addiction and achieved long-term sobriety themselves. Our director, Richard Smith, battled heroin addiction for over a decade. Recovery isn’t theoretical to us. We know what it takes to beat an addiction.

We strive to be the most credible in our industry. The Hader Clinic has operated for over 20 years. Our staff are medical professionals and registered clinicians, and we are fully accredited.

If you reach out to us, we will respond immediately. We know there’s always a narrow window of opportunity in which people with an addiction will accept help — call, and we’ll be there.

A holistic approach to treatment is the only way to do it. We provide more than just medical detox; we provide physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual guidance tailored to each resident.

You’ll only be spending a month with us in Geelong, but recovery is a lifelong process. Even after your inpatient stay at our Essendon home, we’ll provide you with ongoing support to help you stay clean.

Going through detox takes courage. We’ve got your back.

How severe your withdrawals will be will depend on the depth of your addiction. But it’s hard even when it’s easy. But you won’t go through a second of it alone. We’re not going to lock you in a room till you sober up — we’ll work with you to figure out exactly what you need. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Dual diagnosis (mental health) treatment
  • Twelve-step facilitation
  • Psychosocial educational groups
  • Peer support groups
  • Sports, recreation, and massage
