Meet James Dounis

James Dounis is a registered psychologist with experience across public and private mental health settings, including addiction services. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and a Master of Psychology (Counselling).

James adopts a person-centred and trauma-informed approach, helping individuals identify underlying belief systems that contribute to addictive patterns of behaviour. He integrates evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based interventions, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR, tailoring treatment to support recovery with compassion and care.
