Common questions, clear answers

Frequently asked questions about our rehab facilities

Can I see the facilities before I commit?

Yes — we offer guided, confidential tours at both Geelong and Essendon. Tours include a walk-through of client spaces, therapy rooms, shared areas, and amenities. You’ll meet a member of our intake or clinical team who can answer any questions you may have about daily life, safety, and admissions.

Are meals and dietary needs included?

Yes. At Geelong, meals are prepared by an in-house chef with experience in clinical nutrition. At Essendon, food is provided and prepared with client involvement as part of daily recovery routines. We accommodate allergies, medical conditions, and cultural or religious dietary needs.

Do you allow visitors?

Yes — with prior approval and in accordance with your program stage. Visitation plays a key role in our family support model, which includes Sunday meals, therapy sessions, and structured opportunities for loved ones to be involved in your care.

What’s the room setup?

We offer both private and shared rooms. Placement is informed by trauma history, gender safety, and availability. Every room includes basic furnishings, linen, storage, and access to shared facilities like laundry and outdoor areas.

What support is on-site?

Geelong is a licensed hospital with 24/7 clinical care, medication supervision, and individualised detox planning. Essendon is staffed day and night by trauma-informed recovery workers, with access to therapists and medical support as required.

Can I access my phone or devices?

Devices are restricted during treatment to promote focus, reduce distractions, and encourage peer connection. Access may be reviewed during later stages of care, with staff supervision.

Is there support after I leave the facility?

Yes — 72% of clients engage in Hader at Home or transitional housing post-discharge. Our aftercare programs include counselling, relapse prevention, alumni check-ins, and app-based support for up to 12 months.

What makes your spaces different?

The Hader Clinic combines the safety of a hospital, the structure of therapeutic community living, and the comfort of a human-centred home. Our facilities reflect decades of refinement, with an emphasis on lived experience, inclusion, and outcome-driven design.
